Root Canal Treatment

The crown of a tooth is made from a hard white, enamel layer and a thicker dentine layer. These tissues protect the nerve and blood vessels of the tooth, known as the pulp. The pulp extends from the crown to the root tips.

Root Canal Treatment is the process of removing the pulp of the tooth when it becomes inflamed or infected. The pulp can become inflamed or infected due to deep decay, a deep or extensive restoration that involves the pulp, a cracked or fractured tooth due to trauma, excessive wear of the hard tissues and sometimes in the presence of severe gum disease.

All root canal treatment procedures are performed by isolating the tooth with a rubber dam to provide a clean and saliva-free environment. Root canal treatment may be done in single or multiple visits depending on the complexity of the tooth.

We have an in-house Specialist Endodontist who specialises in this treatment and yields a much higher success rate than General Dentists.
